We are very pleased and honored to have\u00a0Pia Sundhage\u00a0<\/strong>as our guest speaker on August 30!<\/p>\n Pia was appointed\u00a0 as the new head coach of Brazil after this summer’s World Cup in France.<\/p>\n Her most decorated role came while in charge of the USA, with whom she won two Olympic gold medals, in 2008 and 2012, as well as reaching the final of the 2011 World Cup.<\/p>\n She stepped down from that role in\u00a02012, wishing to return to her homeland, and would sign a four-year contract to become Sweden\u2019s head coach.<\/p>\n At the 2016 Olympics, Sundhage recorded a shock defeat over the USA in the quarter-finals of the competition, as Sweden collected the silver medal.
