The Swedish Engineering Industry
The engineering industry is Sweden's largest manufacturing sector and has grown faster than any other in Sweden. In the past twenty years its production has increased nearly fourfold. In 1900 it accounted for 9% of industrial output, in 1945 for 23% and in 1999 for 50.4%.
