  • The Swedish Industry in Brazil survey is conducted yearly in order to get an overview of Swedish business in Brazil as a whole.
  • It was conducted by the Swedish-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce between the dates of September 1st and September 30th of 2006.
  • The survey contained 28 questions to which participant companies voluntarily responded.
  • The survey was sent out to all Swedish companies present in Brazil that are known to Swedcham, which came to about 180.
  • Any numbers given by the participating companies are strictly confidential and are not, under any circumstances, shown to third parties.

Swedish industry has a strong presence in Brazil

  • Large Swedish investments in Brazil started in the fifties with a concentration in the São Paulo region. Today, almost all large Swedish corporations are present in Brazil with their own production.
  • The Swedish business community in Brazil today consists of about 180 companies, of which more than fifteen were established during the last three years.
  • New companies starting up are in the majority small and medium sized companies with high technology.



The annual turnover for 2005 increased by 13% compared to 2004.
